There is so much to see and do in Bangkok so make sure you try to fit in as many of the things you can. There are beautiful palaces and Buddhist temples for you to take a look at. Remember that the people in the city are very nice and if they can help you find your way around they will definitely try to. Don’t be afraid to ask them for directions if you do get lost.

Attractions

The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is in about a one mile square area. There are beautiful murals inside the palaces and you will love exploring this site. There is a lot to see and it is fascinating to see how huge the buildings are. Most visitors love seeing it and you will too.

The River City
The River City is a huge mall with lots of fantastic shops and places to dine. If you love to shop you will just love spending the afternoon at this fantastic place. Enjoy the afternoon or evening just walking up and down and enjoying all the area has to offer.

The Ancient City
The Ancient City is another wonderful place to visit where you will see all the cultures, history and arts of the Thai people. Do take your time and garner as much information as you can while you are there visiting this place. It is well worth a couple hours of your time while you are in the area.

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho)
Situated adjacent to the Royal Grand Palace, Wat Pho is Bangkok’s oldest, largest and most famous temple. The grounds of Wat Pho contain over 1,000 statues of Buddha, and the temple houses one of Thailand’s most spectacular sights, the Reclining Buddha - a 157ft (48m) long and 49ft (15m) high statue that is gold-plated and inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl on the soles of its feet. In the 19th century King Rama III turned Wat Pho into a centre of learning and visitors today can still have a massage and learn about the ancient art of Thai Medicine.
 

The National Museum
It is one of the largest museums in Southeast Asia. You will want to spend some time looking over all the beautiful pieces in this museum. The National Gallery Museum also houses a number of beautiful pieces so you will want to visit this one also. The Rare Stone Museum is an interesting place. There are all kind of stones on exhibit in this interesting museum and it is a rock collectors dream. The Philatelic Museum has Thai and unusual stamps. The Royal Barge National Museum is located on the Chao Phraya River and the barges are on display. The Susan Pakkard Palace houses Asian antiques and has beautiful gardens too.
