Located
on the eastern side of the main
peninsula, Doha is the national
capital and the largest city in
Qatar.Unlike in most other Gulf
capitals, to occupy yourself outside
working hours you will have to take
excursions into the interior or
along the coast. Fortunately Qatar
boasts 350 miles of palm-fringed
seafront, which is arguably one
of the most breathtaking in the
Gulf.

Overview
Getting around presents few problems.
The main hotels offer air-conditioned,
chauffer-driven limousines at around
QR150 ($40) per hour. There is no public
transport system, but the city's orange
and white taxis are very reasonable,
though not necessarily comfortable.
Street numbers are non-existant, so
it's worth checking with your driver
that he understands where you want to
go. Car rental starts at QR600 ($165)
a week.
