Guided Tour of Mount Teide Observatory

The Observatorio del Teide (Teide Observatory) is an astronomical observatory on Tenerife operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. Opened in 1964, it became one of the first major international observatories, attracting telescopes from different countries around the world because of the fantastic astronomical conditions.

Our guided visit will allow you to get to know the observatory and the daily activity of the researchers who work there.

The Canary Islands is one of the three best spots in the world to observe the sky, along with Chile and Hawaii. The Teide Observatory is the largest solar observatory in the world and it contains many solar and nocturnal telescopes owned by various international countries.

The Teide Observatory is located at an altitude of 2,390m, in the area of Izaña. It is located on the TF-24 highway from La Esperanza to El Portillo. At Km 37 you must take the TF-514 exit. The entrance to the Observatory is on Km 1 of that highway, on the left hand side.

Start Time: From 08.30am depending on your resorts. Your pick up time and place will be confirmed locally.

Please be at your meeting point at least 20min before confirmed pick up time.

Exclusions: Food and drinks any other services not mentioned above.
