Volcano Island Nisyros - Bus and Boat Tour
When visiting Kos, you simply have to take a day to visit the unique natural beauty of the Volcanic Island of Nisyros. This tour makes sure you do just that. The impressive crater in the centre of the island and the typical traditional charm of the seaside village will leave you with lasting memories.
Nissyros, an island of pure beauty, never fails to impress its visitors. This tiny island is reached after a one hour boat trip from Kardamena. It’s moonlike environment is offset by the prominent feature on the island, the active volcano! You can go down into the crater to feel the force of the lava rumbling beneath your feet, witness the bubbling mud pools and steam geezers.
Apart from the volcano, Nisyros also has a very authentic and peaceful side that you can also enjoy at your own pace. Mandraki, the main town on the island is a labyrinth of picturesque white houses standing alongside narrow cobbled streets and squares. An optional visit to the Monastery of Panagia Spyliani (not included in the price) is also definitely worth it. It is exactly 129 steps to the top however it is worth climbing every single one of them for the view from the top which not only takes in the rest of Nisyros but also surrounding islands.
